Sabai House
One week later--and more baht than I care to mention--Laura and I are completely set up in our new pad. We've purchased new crockery (Aussie for 'dishes') and have given names to our "major" appliances--Frieda Fridge, Wendy Wok, Katie Kettle, and Toby Toaster(oven). Give us fifty years, and we'll still be reminding each other that Frieda is hungry (i.e. we need to go grocery shopping) while knitting sweaters (because it's so cold here) and whining about our arthritis. For now, we come home from work and park our bicycles, welcomed by Pahlo and Nahm Daeng, our neighbour's geese. A bridge connects us to our porch and house, both of which are build over a canal where fish, birds, and turtles make their homes. The house is made entirely of a dark wood that goes nicely with the surrounding greenery, including a few banana trees, whose fruit we are anxiously awaiting to ripen. We now have the opportunity to lay in the hammock, practice yoga, make dinner, or entertain friends whenever we want. Now all we need are pets...

Nice work Mac! :)
However, I just thought I should voice a concern (be warned - it's lengthly ;)), regarding Toby toaster :0)
What bout when he's baking? For example...cookies...
I mean, I know that he can toast so very well :) but he's great at baking too! ;p ...I sense a possible identity crisiseseses? ;)
As a reeeesult - I had a thought about this - while on my mammoth bus trip today, naturally - and have a proposal on the potential hyphenated-name front - not that it looks like you guys need help, but, anwyays! ;)
I offer... from the Aussie side of the ledger ... Oliva (Newtown-John! So SO aussie! ha!)... the United States side ... Oracene (this one was much harder, but a measure of my boredom! ... I refer to, of course, Oracene Price, hahah mother of Serena and Venus Williams [But i mean, of course, really, how many Oracene's do you know?!]
But then, I had one final brain wave of: Oscar.
Remembering the appreciation 'someone' in that househld ;) has mentioned they have of this name made me smile (though internally, as i was on a bus) too! ;)
Hahaha... and THAT is all! ;p - at least I crack myself up right! ;)
